Results – 3rd Annual Cow Creek Trial

The results from the 3rd Annual Cow Creek Trial have been posted here and on the Schedules and Results page. Thanks to Mitch Ely for scoring!

Thanks to everyone that came out in spite of the weather in town. The rain cleared out a couple hours before we started riding making for a fun event with only a few minutes of light rain in the middle of it. Temperature was perfect in the low 60’s. A few of us camped and enjoyed bonfires Friday and Saturday night.

Bobby did some last minute section building to move Section 5, which was in the waterfall area to a dryer area. The original section was still there, but it was hard to tell how deep the water was in places and wouldn’t have been so much fun for anyone that had not ridden it before. We did all go down there after the event and had a good time riding it. Mike did venture into one hole that was quite a bit over boot depth.

A big thanks to Bobby Reece for being our Trials Master.
Thanks to Ron, Ben and Jon for helping laying out tape.
Thanks to Steven Holekamp for doing a big part of creating the Trophies.
Thanks to BJ for cooking up lunch.
Thanks to all of the other riders who have helped clear sections and trails since last year.
Big thanks to the landowner, Mike, for letting us play.

I have posted some video on http://youtube.com/austintrials

Results – Rounds 3 & 4 Comanche Cup

Despite the 6″ of snow that was on the ground Thursday morning, Ray and Laura Peters pulled off another fine event at Dawna & Sid Mauldin’s ranch in the Palo Duro Canyon. They had a little help from the fine weather that graced the weekend – it was a beautiful weekend for a trials event with temps in the 60s. Thanks to everyone that helped with the event!

Here are the section by section results courtesy of Mitch Ely: Round 3 (Updated 3/18), Round 4.

Just a reminder, the Diamondback National is only a month away. Please plan to help Ray and Laura make the National event a huge success – they need your help. They will especially need experienced observers, please volunteer!

SWVTA – Rider Clinic

Yes, it’s that time again. Time to get those old bikes out of hibernation, top off the fluids and change out the plugs. Our inaugural 2014 SWVTA Championship series went out with a bang. We had great ridership over the coarse of the year, and a few of us competed in enough events to qualify for year end trophies, not to mention the really cool jackets for those who won their respective class.

We plan on kicking off the 2015 SWVTA Championship Series with a rider clinic Saturday, February 21st at Huffman Farms outside of Donie, Tx. This will be a loosely organized fun day with advanced riders helping out the beginners with tips on bike set-up, riding and falling. We will gather around 9:30am, with a lunch break around noonish with a club meeting to hammer out dates for the 2015 championship series. No charge for entry fee, feel free to come camp out. It will also be Jay’s birthday! Help him celebrate.

Oh, and see the pdf of the final tally from last years series. Points were awarded as the following: 1st=30, 2nd=25, 3rd=21, 4th=18, 5th=16, 6th=16 7th=15 and so on.

See you the 21st,
Stephen Hetzel
